Many have spoken about living in the gift and most notably Charles Eisenstein has written at length about gift economies. There is also Michael Tellinger of the Ubuntu movement that speaks at length to living in a community driven by what he calls "Contributionism". It is my goal in life to" do the right thing, and take action with awareness" regardless of money. We live in a world that is driven by commerce and commerce has truly proven itself to be warfare. In an effort to live a life of non-violence, truthfulness, non-stealing, and non-harming, I have found that to be "in commerce" puts me at war with pretty much everyone and everything. This is why the gift page is here.
In my time exploring the idea of the gift and gift economies it has come to light for me that there is still so much healing and education that must happen before we can truly live in the gift. My understanding has come to be that in order for a gift to be complete, it must be fully received without tension or stress or else the purity of the offer is tarnished and violence occurs, even if just in the mind. However, I have found that in trying to live outside of commerce, there is still a need and deep attachment to "Money" in our paradigm and in order for people to fully receive gifts they feel compelled to at least give money in return. The way I look at it, I am happy to receive your gifts in whatever form enables you to truly receive my gifts to you. This is the truth within the gift ultimately anyway, as the gift is something that should continually be in motion and transforming from form to form remaining in essence a powerful moving energy that supports thriving life.
So here is my Gift Page. Use it as you will and please reach out if there is any way I can help you in this deep process of giving and receiving for the betterment, upliftment, and joyful exchange of energy between living things to support thriving life everywhere.
